Real: Fur and burgundy

It was one of those sunny, freezing days in New York. While headed to one of the craziest brunch parties, I was walking around at 2 pm in a full blown party outfit. Tallest heels included. Nothing is strange in New York and neither was I.

This combo perfectly defines my style this winter. I have paired my favorite color of the moment - burgundy with the ultimate favorite color - black. I also love the jacquard detail of the zara pants which I bought on a sale and were really a bargain. I've been rocking the burgundy accessories for these cold days, and they look great with my winter gray coat as well. The fur coat is my favorite though. I love love love fur coats. And don't say that it's wrong and you kill animals blah blah. Excuse me for not being politically correct on this one, you can see and feel the difference between real and faux fur. I'm sorry, but it's true. You're not fooling anyone baby. If someone feels insulated...oh well. If it's any consolation - I only own one and it's a short one :).

These should have a new flat's following: Aldo Cyphers

You know when you are waiting for the first spring breeze, the smell of that first flowering tree or the first warm day just so you can get out of your boots, give your toes a wiggle, and take a walk in those cute spring flats you have been dying to wear?

These flats should be the new spring/summer craze and because of their suede comfort, lovely colors and cheap price, I predict they will be. So grab them now ladies and let's wait in our warm rooms until that spring day comes (hugging them while sleeping as we do with all season favorites, of course).

Just $80

(and No, Aldo is not paying me to say this although I wish they would)

I'm in love with a shoe!

I have to say that this kind of love I have not experienced yet... I'm not saying that there was never a sandal here and there, an occasional one night stand with a stiletto, but this is different, this is true love

We met in the chaotic Macy's shoe department, on the corner of 34th St. and Broadway. Way above on the 5th Floor, on a glorious white pedestal, there it was - the shoe. My eyes watered, sparkled in awe, a few blinks followed and my hand moved swiftly towards it. To touch, to feel, to experience. As it it usually goes with such encounters - sheer disappointment follows as the number on the bottom signifies an incompatibility. Lo and behold, there was a red sticker. A red sticker that brought a wide smile to my face. In an ecstatic rush, I grabbed the first salesperson and demanded a proper, fitting acquaintance. The service was unusually fast (anyone that knows Macy's will understand) and my relationship began. As I swirled and twirled in front of the mirror, the busy floor seemed to have been transformed into a paradise. That is, until the words "the right one should be somewhere on the floor" shattered my illusion. I was puzzled, my heart started to beat faster and I thought "You mean, I have to find it in all of this?" The answer was clear. I knew I had to fight for true love and so I have began my journey through the jungle of angry tourists, furious salespeople and a graveyard of unwanted shoes. About 45 minutes later, a dozen clearance racks, and too many glances at the floor, I realized that maybe we are just not meant to be. To give it a one last shot, I looked again. The second I saw those beige laces, I grabbed them. My calculation showed that it could possibly be it. I couldn't have looked inside any faster. Happiness overcame me as soon as I saw that small printed 7.5M.

I knew, this will be forever. Without further ado, introducing my true love:

Zara Lookbook Spring Summer 2011 May favorites

I am just Zara obsessed... I have way too many pieces from that store, and I would actually buy every single thing in there if I could. However, I do choose H&M for basic pieces and Zara for more tailored ones like blazers, skirts and such. H&M is just cheaper for those, and the cuts on your t-shirts don't matter as much as those on your jacket...

The last two pics are of these amazing color block shoes. I am in love with the combination of orange, red, pink and purple... who would think that it looks that good?

Crveno i roze nose samo koze? I don't think so.

love the summery whites with a pop of color and tailoring

tuff chic, a touch of casual teen tee is always good in a closet

I would add a belt to this, for some added waist and sexiness

love the knit loose vest (and her green nails! MINTY!)

I just couldn't resist these, even though I pledged not to shop for a month.
Talk about setting unrealistic goals for myself....

Loveeee these, if they were cheaper, they would be MINE!

Cheap and Chic - A Guide to Bright Accessories

I have went on color overdose at Zara the other day. My bank account was in severe pain. On the other hand, I felt great. But if you are a boring black and white person even THIS season, I suggested a quick fix - a crazy colored bag or shoe. It will brighten up any outfit, however gray scale it may be. All of these pretty cheap so I suggest buying five :). Well, not unless you are getting your paycheck the next day. Who needs groceries, right?

I will make this post short since I am longing for more than 6 hours of sleep tonight, even though the possibility of that seems unlikely at this point. Ugh. You know, I have a job (or three) and a life where I need to do stuff. But my addiction takes over. Gosh, saying this I feel like Dexter (who knows, knows).

cmok!

Obsessed with... Asymmetrical Zara Shoes Spring 2011

As I grow older, I realize life is all about choices. Not to get too philosophical on your ass, but it's true. Since I have two delta tickets bought for two different destinations, one for love and the other one for love and an amazing tropical vacation (mostly for the second hehe), I am, literally, avoiding shopping. Imagine me walking fast past the stores trying to stare into my blackberry and not into the windows. Well, that's me now. However, that doesn't stop me from posting photos of things I wish I could buy, like these shoes from Zara. But these kind of shoes I never feel comfortable in. They always hurt my feet, really. So I don't care I can't buy them. Seriously, I don't care. I really don't care!!

(maybe if I repeat that to myself enough times I will actually believe it)
