Real: Stripes in Paris, what a surprise

I've always loved stripes and this blazer in particular. I have just found that it works with casual outfits, layered over a blouse for work, and for everything else in between. I have bought this one a while ago in H&M but have found that they have a very similar one in stores now too (I believe it's $49.90 so you better get to it fast!).

It works great with my lace-up zara booties which I can't live without (or go two posts without wearing) and my favorite skinny jeans (I wrote about them here). Layer some gold jewelry, and my leather bracelet I have bought in Joe Fresh a few months ago (for which I constantly get compliments for because everyone thinks it's Hermes, giggle).

 I'm wearing:

Stripped blazer - H&M
Dark wash (super) skinny jeans - Abercrombie
Shirt with lace sleeves - Forever21
Lace-up boots - Zara
Black patent leather chain bag - Zara
Layered necklace - H&M
Leather cuff bracelet - Joe Fresh

Real: The last of the winter days in Paris, with some tribal print

Don't you just hate those winter days when the skies are blue and sunny, and you so foolishly believe (or hope) that spring has finally arrived. Then you walk outside in your cute little spring jacket, still with the unworn smell, and literally turn into a popsicle? Yes. That has been happening a lot to me lately. The New York weather has been acting like a woman going through menopause. As in that situation, we have no other choice but to weather through (pun intended).

However, on this beautiful Paris day I decided to still wear my cozy gray zara coat and my favorite tribal print scarf. I paired it with a ballerina bun and my braided bangs since I was having the day after the flight hair disaster. This is my first outfit post from Paris and I am oh, so, proud of the wonderful photos my friend Milica (with the C being pronounced as an S, don't make me punch you) took of me. They were taken in the courtyard of the Louvre which is divine beyond explanation. Everything about that city makes me wonder about all the wonderful things humans have created and how we never truly appreciate it anymore, apart from millions of tourists which snap photos of things they don't know when, how, or by whom were built by. Those peeps are precious. But, before I go into my raging critique of tourists world-wide, why don't I stop. Just stop.

I'm wearing:

Gray coat - Zara
Tribal print scarf (it's actually a poncho) - H&M
Black patent chain leather bag - Zara
Dark wash jeans - Abercrombie
Lace up boots - Zara
Gold ring - Forever21

Real: Red hat, plaid and gray. A lesson in winter layering

Although the winter is almost done (hopefully), I still believe some of you would benefit from imaginative layering in the cold days to come. I am no expert but I do get these great ideas on how to combine items in my closet as never before. This could possibly be due to my inability to shop these days, partly for not having any (and I mean ANY) room in my closet, and partly due to my lack of mula for these shopping expeditions I have became accustomed to. Let me get to the point before you scroll down to the pictures (if you have not done so already in which case you are not even reading this so I don't care what I write because you suck, kidding, kidding).

Ahem.
One of my favorite things to do in the past year is wearing dresses and layering on top of them. You usually need a shirt which doesn't have a deep v-neck of some sort but something that is pretty closed on top. That is to cover the whole top of the dress and not have things sticking out and looking just plain awkward. Once you have the dress and the shirt, I would suggest to belt it as I have, just to add some shape to the outfit. Then you can continue with a denim, plaid shirt, sweater, fur vest and so on. Put on some hot booties, a matching coat, and voila! - you have a stylish, cozy, warm winter outfit. Do be careful not to be too colorful. Stick to neutrals or lots of black and denim with one accent color (as I have).

Well, this is all.

Real: Fur and burgundy

It was one of those sunny, freezing days in New York. While headed to one of the craziest brunch parties, I was walking around at 2 pm in a full blown party outfit. Tallest heels included. Nothing is strange in New York and neither was I.

This combo perfectly defines my style this winter. I have paired my favorite color of the moment - burgundy with the ultimate favorite color - black. I also love the jacquard detail of the zara pants which I bought on a sale and were really a bargain. I've been rocking the burgundy accessories for these cold days, and they look great with my winter gray coat as well. The fur coat is my favorite though. I love love love fur coats. And don't say that it's wrong and you kill animals blah blah. Excuse me for not being politically correct on this one, you can see and feel the difference between real and faux fur. I'm sorry, but it's true. You're not fooling anyone baby. If someone feels insulated...oh well. If it's any consolation - I only own one and it's a short one :).

Real: Pink and bling

There is no better way to spend a sunny Sunday than with dear friends, walking around Central Park and the village, eating ice cream and quesadillas. I chose a very girly outfit for the day. My obsession with costume jewelry continues on. I got this amazing piece in forever21 for very little (shopping link bellow!). I wear it with everything, from a graphic tee to a sheer blouse for going out.

Real: Catching the last summer rays

Don't you ever get this feeling that it was just New Years Eve yesterday? This is the feeling I have been having these past months. The ending of summer just makes it more real. Now the reason for this feeling could be either that I have done too much so it flew by so quickly or done too little. I choose to ignore the question all together. Who wants to think about such existential or productive things either way? Let's go to the beach and enjoy the last summer weekend (although I'm not ready to say bye bye to my dresses and dive into the piles of layers, however tempting that chocolate and junk food might be).

To the last days of summer. Bottoms up!

Real: A bright afternoon

On this Sunday afternoon I decided to pull out some neon to brighten up my day. While the rain sprinkled over my ipad, I enjoyed cheese and crackers on the grass with my two wonderful friends. Music played, the river flowed and every bad moment of the week that has passed was swept up by the wind.  However short the afternoon was, there was no sweeter way to spend it.
