Real: How to wear sweatpants

I got this awesome pair of sweatpants from bershka and I had to make an outfit with them (besides fashioning them around the house which I really consider a waste). I'm not the type to wear sweatpants in public (yikes) but I think this has become acceptable these days. Also, it was Sunday and I was feeling a bit lazy. And may I say that I was never more comfortable in public. You forget how constricting are regular pants and jeans. This was soft and awesome.

I think the most important thing to think about when wearing sweatpants is how to dress them up. If you just wear a t-shirt and flip-flops  it will definitely not look good. Opposites attract. So do glam and casual clothes.

I paired it with a cute graphic-t, flats, some costume jewelry (my favorite bib necklace) for an added chic effect and pink lipstick. It's not as if I just put my hair in a pony tail and ran out the house. Didn't really want people to think I was going running. I mean, I didn't want to ruin my reputation.

I'm wearing:

Sweatpants - Bershka
Blazer - unknown
Leather jacker - Zara
Graphic T-shirt - Zara
Flats - Bershka
Necklace - Forever21
Sunglasses - RayBan

Real: The last of the winter days in Paris, with some tribal print

Don't you just hate those winter days when the skies are blue and sunny, and you so foolishly believe (or hope) that spring has finally arrived. Then you walk outside in your cute little spring jacket, still with the unworn smell, and literally turn into a popsicle? Yes. That has been happening a lot to me lately. The New York weather has been acting like a woman going through menopause. As in that situation, we have no other choice but to weather through (pun intended).

However, on this beautiful Paris day I decided to still wear my cozy gray zara coat and my favorite tribal print scarf. I paired it with a ballerina bun and my braided bangs since I was having the day after the flight hair disaster. This is my first outfit post from Paris and I am oh, so, proud of the wonderful photos my friend Milica (with the C being pronounced as an S, don't make me punch you) took of me. They were taken in the courtyard of the Louvre which is divine beyond explanation. Everything about that city makes me wonder about all the wonderful things humans have created and how we never truly appreciate it anymore, apart from millions of tourists which snap photos of things they don't know when, how, or by whom were built by. Those peeps are precious. But, before I go into my raging critique of tourists world-wide, why don't I stop. Just stop.

I'm wearing:

Gray coat - Zara
Tribal print scarf (it's actually a poncho) - H&M
Black patent chain leather bag - Zara
Dark wash jeans - Abercrombie
Lace up boots - Zara
Gold ring - Forever21

Real: Red hat, plaid and gray. A lesson in winter layering

Although the winter is almost done (hopefully), I still believe some of you would benefit from imaginative layering in the cold days to come. I am no expert but I do get these great ideas on how to combine items in my closet as never before. This could possibly be due to my inability to shop these days, partly for not having any (and I mean ANY) room in my closet, and partly due to my lack of mula for these shopping expeditions I have became accustomed to. Let me get to the point before you scroll down to the pictures (if you have not done so already in which case you are not even reading this so I don't care what I write because you suck, kidding, kidding).

Ahem.
One of my favorite things to do in the past year is wearing dresses and layering on top of them. You usually need a shirt which doesn't have a deep v-neck of some sort but something that is pretty closed on top. That is to cover the whole top of the dress and not have things sticking out and looking just plain awkward. Once you have the dress and the shirt, I would suggest to belt it as I have, just to add some shape to the outfit. Then you can continue with a denim, plaid shirt, sweater, fur vest and so on. Put on some hot booties, a matching coat, and voila! - you have a stylish, cozy, warm winter outfit. Do be careful not to be too colorful. Stick to neutrals or lots of black and denim with one accent color (as I have).

Well, this is all.

Real: Sunny day on the Brooklyn Bridge

On lazy days, especially Sundays, my friends have to drag me out of the house but whenever they do, I am very grateful to them, as there is nothing better than sunny days in New York. On a touristy but non the less breathtaking walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, the skyline acted as my background, chilly air cooled me and the New York sun warmed me, the cyclists yelled at me, while my friends made me laugh. We finished it off with some hard lemonade at Berry Park in the BK. A day that makes lounging in bed seem like a complete waste of time.

Once again, I thank my dear friend Alessandra Agurcia for the wonderful photos.

Real: Denim shirt and a white dress for the last of the summer days

One of the last warm feels-like-summer weekends in New York, I decided to wear a white mesh dress from H&M and a belted denim shirt from zara which I adore. I also finally took pics with my aldo cyphert bag which I blogged about a while back. I also wore my zara boots which just go with everything. As you can see I am obsessed with love rings as well as hearts. What can I say, I am a romantic at heart (right...).

Hope you enjoy these pics at least 1/4 of how much I enjoyed that day. Why can't the sun come back?

My obsession with costume jewelry continues on. I got this amazing piece in forever21 for very little (shopping link bellow!). I wear it with everything, from a graphic tee to a sheer blouse for going out.

Real: How to wear a white lace dress

Umm... you must be thinking... who is this girl to tell me how to wear anything? Well, I didn't mean to be bossy in my title but "suggestions on how to wear a white lace dress" might not be as punchy or attention grabbing. I will take the risk of sounding a bit preachy for you to see how a simple but overwhelmingly beautiful white lace dress (thank you my friends for giving me such an inspiring present) can be worn in many occasions and look just the way you want it. From casual, a night out, to a girly brunch, there is a lot of room for imagination.

Oh, did I mention that my stuff doesn't cost a fortune? No need to break the piggy bank.

Dress worn in all the photos is a zara white lace dress from the spring summer 2012 collection. Buy it here ($89.90) and get imaginative.

Starting off with a casual look
very city chic

I love pairing a military jacket with such a delicate lace dress. Add on some comfy boots and a belt to keep the shape... perfect for a day out in the city

jacket: h&m
boots: zara
belt: h&m
headband: zara
watch: michael kors
glasses: ray ban
bracelets: one by h&m,
other made in barcelona
rings: vintage

Another casual look
perfect for a sunday funday

Never think that shirts can't be worn over dresses. Why not? Is there a rule book on this? I liked to keep girly accessories, like wedges, pearls and sparkles, just so I don't look like a farm girl.

dress: zara
plaid shirt: h&m
bag: zara
wedges: jessica simpson
jewelry: forever21

Let's bring it up a noch with a
girly look

I am wearing flats! But these are an elegant pair (sara version of the valentino stunners)
My favorite costume jewelry necklace over a closed front dress - it's just what I like + pink lipstick

dress: zara
shoes: zara
necklace: forever21
love that one
glasses: ray ban

Now we're going for
the clubbing look.

I adore this jacket as it can be worn over anything. I like to toughen it up with red lipstick and killer heels. These are very very high, I am almost as tall as a model in these ;), got to get in those clubs.

dress: zara
jacket: zara
clutch: random, alexander mcqueen rip off.
love the nyc stores for variety
ring: h&m
shoes: jessica simpson

And last but not least
Girly with a neon detail

Want to look sexy and sweet at the same time.
Maybe for a date night, outing with the girls...
I love neutral heels as they elongate my legs
(being a tiny squirt as I am, that's a good thing)

belt: forever21

bracelets: h&m
ring: forever21

Don't be so boring and try some of this out.
